Helmets to Hardhats Program
Updated On: Apr 24, 2014

Helmets to Hardhats
As a veteran of the U.S. Military, you have served your country well, providing security for all Americans. The Carpenters Training Committee of Northern California (CTCNC) wants to give back to those who have given so much.

Returning veterans have at times had difficulty finding good jobs. Therefore, the CTCNC has created an opportunity for Verterans to gain direct entry into our apprenticeship programs. The CTCNC will provide the free training, and will help find careers with contractors throughout the area. These contractors are "arming" themselves for the construction boom of the near future.

The CTCNC offers many programs including; Carpentry, Acoustical Installer, Drywall/Lather, Hardwood Floor Layer, Insulator, Millwright, Pile Driver, Scaffold Erector and Shingler in the construction industry.(visit:  http://www.ctcnc.org/home.aspx/page/61)

Helmets to Hardhats are a national program that connects transitioning active-duty and reserve-component members with training and employment opportunities within the construction industry.

The statewide direct-entry program provides a common agreement between Building and Construction Trades, Joint Apprenticeship Training Councils, locals (at their discretion) and Helmets to Hardhats leaders to support candidates in that state. The program allows candidates to start construction careers soon after they apply, and also gives them credit for military training and experience.
